  2. Be able to identify the 4 major biomolecules and their properties: Lipids, Carbohydrates, Nucleic acids, and proteins

    1. For each of the four biomolecules above, you should be able to list or draw:

    2. The general structure

    3. The name of the single or monomeric unit

    4. The name of the polymers formed.

    5. Important uses of this type of molecule in the body.

  3. Explain how polymers are made through dehydration synthesis and broken down through hydrolysis.

  4. Explain the importance of water to life, including cohesion, adhesion and its role as a solvent.

  5. Chemical indicators are used to Identify macromolecules
